At GoTime4Study, we believe that your focus habits, personal study reflections, course notes, and study times are strictly your business. Our architecture is engineered around a zero-data-collection philosophy: all study timers, subject statistics, streak records, ambient settings, and PIN-protected personal study diary entries reside exclusively inside your web browser's local storage.
1. Information We Do NOT Collect
Unlike conventional productivity web apps that track, profile, and monetize student behavior, GoTime4Study operates with complete respect for user autonomy:
- No Personal Identifiers: We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or physical address.
- No Passwords or Credentials on Servers: You do not need to create an account or provide authentication credentials.
- No Server-Side Tracking: We do not log your IP address, browsing history, focus timestamps, or behavioral session data to any remote database.
- No Sale or Sharing of Data: We never sell, rent, monetize, or trade any user information to third-party advertisers or data brokers.
2. How We Use Browser LocalStorage
To provide a seamless, persistent experience without requiring user logins, GoTime4Study utilizes standard HTML5 LocalStorage on your device. The following items are stored client-side:
- Timer Settings & Presets: Configured sprint lengths (focus, short break, long break, custom duration), volume preferences, and auto-start toggles.
- Subject Manager & Logs: The list of subjects you create (e.g. Mathematics, Biology) and the minutes focused per subject.
- Streak & Badge Progress: Daily study streak counters and unlocked achievement milestones.
- Personal Study Diary Notes: Your private study reflections, goals, mood tags, mistakes, and your chosen 4-digit security PIN.
- Theme & Scene Preferences: Selected dashboard themes and ambient background animations.
Note: This data never leaves your device. If you clear your browser's cookies and site data or use an incognito window, your local data will be reset.
3. Personal Study Diary & PIN Security
The Personal Study Diary feature allows you to record sensitive learning reflections, breakthrough thoughts, and exam mistake reviews. This diary is protected by a client-side PIN verification modal.
The PIN is stored locally in your browser storage and is verified directly in JavaScript on your machine. No diary entries or PIN codes are transmitted across the internet.
4. Co-Study Live Rooms & Real-Time Sync
When utilizing the Co-Study Live Rooms feature, status synchronization (such as nickname, avatar, and focus state) is transmitted through browser BroadcastChannel and peer-to-peer protocols across tabs and browsers.
Room sessions are transient and ephemeral—no chat logs, room histories, or user identities are archived or recorded on any server.
5. Third-Party Libraries & External Content
To deliver an aesthetic and high-performance experience, GoTime4Study references a small number of reputable public CDNs:
- Google Fonts: Used solely to load the typography (Outfit and JetBrains Mono) without collecting user data.
- Chart.js CDN (jsDelivr / cdnjs): Used to render analytics bar charts directly within client-side memory.
- Spotify Embeds (Optional): If you choose to embed a Spotify playlist, Spotify’s privacy policy applies to their embedded widget. GoTime4Study does not access your Spotify account details.
6. Cookies & Tracking Technologies
GoTime4Study does not use tracking cookies, analytics cookies, third-party pixel tags, or retargeting scripts. We do not engage in behavioral advertising or cross-site tracking.
7. User Rights & Data Deletion (GDPR / CCPA / CalOPPA)
Because all your data is stored locally on your machine, you have complete and total control over your information at all times:
- Right to Access: You can view all your focus stats, subject history, and journal notes directly on the dashboard.
- Right to Delete: You can delete individual journal notes or subject tags at any time using the in-app delete buttons, or clear your browser's site storage to wipe all application data instantly.
- Right to Portability: You can copy your journal entries and logs to your clipboard with one click.
8. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
GoTime4Study is safe for students of all ages, including children under 13. We do not collect personal information from any user, ensuring full compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
